Dean Baker, co-director of the Center for Economic and Policy Research, said:

It will be useful to point out to voters that people who do not share their interests are paying to elect Republicans. The hard part of the story for the Democrats is that people who do not share the interests of the vast majority of the population are also paying to elect Democratic candidates. The only difference is that the Republicans get more corporate dollars (both foreign and domestic) than the Democrats.

It is entirely in the wrong direction. Almost as absurd as declaring war on farmers or the United Way. Apparently the only people authentically speaking for the Democrats today are stand-up comedians and that guy who sells Chevy trucks at the football games. It’s stupid. It’s painful. It’s embarrassing.

It will backfire. This makes Obama look more like Hugo Chavez than it does Bill ClintonWilliam (Bill) Jefferson ClintonLongtime Clinton confidant blames Comey for 2016 loss Trump’s national monument rollbacks take effect A year after Obama, Dems still looking for replacement MORE. Desperation is not pretty.

Yep. The Chamber is as much beloved by the American electorate as cigarette companies — with a reputation almost as well-deserved. (The U.S. Chamber even lobbies in China against better worker protections.)

Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform, said:

President Obama and the Democrats had overwhelming control of the House and Senate for two years.  They have no accomplishments they wish to highlight to American voters.  Nothing.
Americans are not happy with their takeover of health care, or the bailouts, or massive spending sprees. Or unlimited earmarks.  Or the escalation of wars overseas. Or the debt. Or the deficits.
Having nothing to say...they throw make believe mud at the Chamber of Commerce that started this two year stretch trying to work with the Obama Administration.  Bet the Chamber feels kinda silly for trusting the Chicago Gang.
If you ask someone why you should hire them and all they can do is lie about someone else….chances are they don’t have anything to say for themselves.
Carter and Clinton were not this pathetic.  I miss the killer rabbits wearing thongs.
