Obama:Redirect Funds from Iraq to Social Programs

At a town hall meeting in Charleston, S.C., last week, Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) said if elected president, he'd like to take portions of the Iraq War funding and place them into social programs.

"I am tired of seeing our young people who have served come back and not get the treatment they deserve and are homeless," Obama said. "We shouldn't have someone who has served and protected our country go into a dumpster for food or living under a cardboard box."
