Romney Pulled out Stops to Stop Tax Hike

Mitt Romney says he, as governor of Massachusetts, had the state's Department of Revenue send bills to residents for a proposed retroactive tax hike. In this video, Romney relates the story of how he kept Massachusetts' overwhelmingly liberal legislature from raising taxes and replaced the proposed $25 million hike with a $25 million refund.

"We simply can't afford, for our future growth as a country, to have a tax rate that's way out of alignment with the other major economies of the world," Romney told The Club for Growth March 29, citing U.S. corporate tax rates as the world's second highest.
