Last month, I toured a manufacturing facility and hosted a roundtable with local North Jersey company executives to discuss the importance of manufacturing in today's business economy and its role in continuing our robust economic rebound.  This meeting only reinforced to me that manufacturing is an important contributor to both the economy of New Jersey and of the country.  I have, along with many of my colleagues in Congress, been working hard to promote pro-growth economic policies, giving business the tools to reinvest in their employees and the market.  The tremendous growth we have seen in the U.S. economy, with record low unemployment and high hourly compensation, consumer spending, and productivity -- not to mention the record-breaking days on Wall Street--has been encouraging and is positive proof that these policies are working.  Tax relief gives companies the ability to be more innovative and effective in carrying out their business plans--and the American people benefit from that.
