In his latest campaign video, Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) said he wasn't deterred by the president's latest veto on Congress' demand to start withdrawing U.S. forces from Iraq.
"If the president continues to stubbornly ignore the realities in Iraq, we intend to force our colleagues in the Senate and House to take vote, after vote, after vote, after vote, after vote until we finally overcome his veto or he understands he has to change course," Obama said.

Which presidential candidate will address the nullification of federal law by major cities across the country declaring sanctuary for illegal aliens?
After ignoring a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request – but before the subsequent lawsuit went to court - Judicial Watch received from Washington, D.C.'s Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) a memo from former Police Chief Charles H. Ramsey that states:
"MPD [Metropolitan Police Department] officers are strictly prohibited from making inquiries into citizenship or residency status for the purpose of determining whether an individual has violated the civil immigration laws or for the purpose of enforcing those laws…the MPD is not in the business of inquiring about the residency status of the people we serve and is not in the business of enforcing civil immigration laws."

At a town hall meeting in Charleston, S.C., last week, Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) said if elected president, he'd like to take portions of the Iraq War funding and place them into social programs.
"I am tired of seeing our young people who have served come back and not get the treatment they deserve and are homeless," Obama said. "We shouldn't have someone who has served and protected our country go into a dumpster for food or living under a cardboard box."

In his latest presidential campaign video, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) defended the No Child Left Behind Act by making a distinction between federal and state governments' role in education.
"The federal No Child Left Behind Act is often misunderstood and unfairly maligned as a total federal intrusion," Huckabee said. "As long as the states are allowed to develop their own benchmark exams to determine the manner to create standards ... there's a value of having a national effort to at least set high standards."

Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) continued her "Four Corners of Iowa" tour over the weekend, appearing at a coffee shop in Newton, Luther College in Decorah, and staging a press conference with nurses in Dubuque. In Clinton's latest campaign video, released Wednesday, the senator speaks to small groups of Iowans about popular skepticism of government, and about making everyone a part of bettering America.
Clinton talks about certain Americans who are "invisible" to the federal government under the current administration. Those Americans include single mothers working through school, small business owners fighting rising energy costs, and nurses speaking out for better patient care and working conditions.
