Two US troops killed in Osprey crash in Morocco
Two U.S. troops were killed Wednesday when a V-22 Osprey crashed southern Morocco, Reuters reported.
The spokesman for the U.S. embassy in Rabat, Rodney Ford, told Reuters that the tiltrotor Osprey crashed in the southern province of Tan Tan.
Two troops were killed, and another two were taken to a military medical facility in Guelmim Province, about 450 miles south of Rabat, according to Reuters.
The Marines were in Morocco for an annual joint U.S.-Moroccan military exercise called “African Lion.”
The Bell-Boeing V-22 Osprey is an aircraft that takes off and lands like a helicopter and flies like a fixed-wing plane.
