A recent deal to allow U.S. and coalition forces to keep moving weapons and supplies out of Afghanistan through Pakistan is a solid first step toward repairing the frayed relations between Washington and Islamabad.
In a deal struck Tuesday between Islamabad, Washington and Brussels, coalition forces will retain access to Pakistani supply routes until 2015.
All American forces are scheduled to leave Afghanistan by 2014. The first 23,000 U.S. Marines are set to come home this summer.
