Reid condemns shooting of Afghan civilians
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) condemned a U.S. soldier who reportedly killed 16 civilians in Afghanistan Sunday.
“It was absolutely wrong,” Reid said during an interview on CNN’s State of the Union.
“I think our timetable is pretty good,” he said.
Reid expressed his condolences for the victims of the shooting.
“Our hearts go out to these innocent people,” he said, adding that the incident is “just not a good situation.”

Reuters reported Sunday that a U.S. soldier broke into homes in Southern Afghanistan and killed 16 civilians.
"A United States service member was detained today in connection to an incident that resulted in Afghan casualties in Kandahar province," said a statement from the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force. "This is a deeply regrettable incident and we extend our thoughts and concerns to the families involved."
The incident comes at a critical time for U.S., Afghan relations. Last month, the accidental burnings of Qurans by American troops at an airbase sparked a week of violent protests, killing over 30 Afghans and six American service members.
