Syria conflict spills into Lebanon with kidnappings

A Lebanese clan said Wednesday it had kidnapped more than 20 Syrians in Lebanon in retaliation for a kidnapping by the Syrian Free Army, according to media reports, as the Syrian conflict began to spill over the countries' border.

The Associated Press reported that the clan, which backs the regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad, smashed storefronts and captured the 20 Syrians as well as a Turkish man, after a relative of the clan was kidnapped, in Syria, by the Syrian opposition. Reuters reported a Saudi man was also among those abducted in Lebanon.

Israel says it is prepared 'as never before' for war with Iran

Israel’s outgoing defense minister declared in an interview with the Maariv newspaper today that his country was prepared “as never before” for a war with Iran, reports Agence France-Presse


Matan Vilnai, who is set to become the country’s ambassador to China, predicted that any Israeli strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities would result in a 30-day war on multiple fronts. Civilian casualties could rise as high as 500 as the small nation would endure missile strikes targeting its population centers.

Report: Iran seeks to file suit against cyberattackers
