Pentagon officials have been given the green light to begin using new Blackberry and Android smartphones on Defense Department networks. 

Sens. Levin and Inhofe said "a concrete demonstration" of the cuts may be the only way to halt sequestration.

President Obama must lay out a comprehensive policy plan on what to do with the terror detainees housed at Guantánamo Bay before moving to shut down the military prison, according to a top House Republican. 

Several members of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) took part in last year’s terrorist attack on the U.S. facility in Benghazi, Libya, CNN reported.

A senior law enforcement official told CNN that “three or four” men who took part in the attack were from Yemen and members of AQAP.

It’s unclear still whether they had been sent by AQAP to take part in the attack or were already in Benghazi and joined as the opportunity arose.

But the country still hasn’t developed the technology to weaponize the long-range missile, according to the assessment.

The Pentagon faces cuts of $41 billion in 2013 and another $52 billion in 2014, if the sequester isn't reversed.
