Lowe has managed the consulting firm Lowe Strategies LLC since 2009.
He spent 11 years working for Stevens, including service as his chief of staff from 2005 to 2009, and was also legislative director and chief counsel. He also served as chief of staff for Murkowski in 2004, according to AGA.
“George’s extensive experience on Capitol Hill will be an asset to AGA and our membership,” McCurdy said.
Lowe’s arriving as lawmakers and federal policymakers are tackling a suite of issues that affect AGA, a group that represents companies that supply gas to residential, industrial and commercial consumers.
They include pipeline safety, energy efficiency, low-income home heating assistance, natural gas-powered vehicles, rules for trading in energy derivatives and others.
