First lady planning first Gulf oil spill trip
First lady Michelle Obama is planning to visit the Gulf of Mexico for the first time in the coming weeks to observe the oil spill recovery effort, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said Wednesday.
Vice President Joe Biden is also planning to visit the region.
No details are available yet about their visits, which follow four that President Barack Obama has made there since the April 20 explosion of the BP-run Deepwater Horizon rig.
The White House says the president has no current plans to visit again.
