Energy groups abound on Issa's Obama reg list

By Andrew Restuccia - 01/06/11 11:13 AM ET

The Hill has obtained a full list of the companies and groups Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) reached out to in mid-December in order to identify the most onerous Obama administration regulations.

The list includes a wide range of groups, but many of them have ties to energy policy. These include: the Edison Electric Institute, the American Petroleum Institute, Duke Energy, ExxonMobil, the American Chemistry Council, the National Association of Manufacturers, the National Mining Association, the Independent Petroleum Producers of America, General Electric and others.

Issa, the chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee in the 112th Congress, has said he will begin targeting the Obama administration’s “job-killing” regulations in the coming weeks. While it’s clear that the Environmental Protection Agency’s rules are among the regulations that will be targeted by House Republicans, it’s less clear when that will happen. One industry lobbyist told E2 this week it might take some time for Republicans to tackle EPA’s climate rules.

Here is the full list.
