Industry groups target Obama energy, environment regs at Issa hearing
The Hill's Peter Schroeder has a story on Rep. Darrell Issa's (R-Calif.) hearing Thursday morning on potentially burdensome regulations. E2 previewed the hearing Wednesday night, noting that business and industry groups would target energy and environmental regulations, among others.
As we noted Wednesday night, National Association of Manufacturers President Jay Timmons criticized EPA air rules, and Western Growers Association President Tom Nassif focused on problems for farmers related to the Endangered Species Act.
Schroeder reported Thursday that National Black Chamber of Commerce CEO Harry Alford slammed the Obama administration's offshore drilling regulations.
"BP is the outlier, not the U.S. oil industry," he said at the hearing. "We need to remove the oil embargo. We can put an embargo on BP, they were the ones that were doing it."
