News bites: Another aftershock hits Japan, Gulf officials' 'spending spree'

By Andrew Restuccia - 04/11/11 08:36 AM ET

Another major aftershock hit Japan and officials in the country said they would expand the evacuation zone around the sticken Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant.

The crisis in Japan is causing some to question a U.S. project aimed at turning plutonium into fuel.

An investigation by the Associated Press has found that Gulf coast officials have spent millions of dollars of BP’s money on things only tangentially related to the oil spill cleanup.

Oil prices fell Monday.

Some in Arizona, with summer just around the corner, are dyeing their grass green.

A man won a major environmental award for working to reduce air pollution in Texas.
