News bites: Average gas price reaches $3.90

By Andrew Restuccia - 04/29/11 08:50 AM ET

The New York Times takes a look at the ongoing struggle to finance U.S. nuclear power plants.

Discovery News investigates the cause of this month's uptick in tornadoes. “Climate change may be partly to blame for this April's record-setting torrent of deadly tornadoes, but La Niña is a more likely cause,” it reports.

A new study says climate change is partly to blame for rising extinction rates of the American pika.

The average price of gas rose to $3.90.
