News bites: Scientists told to explain effects of climate change more clearly

By Andrew Restuccia - 05/06/11 09:00 AM ET

A new international study warns of mercury emissions.

Climate change resulted in a 3 percent lower corn and wheat yield during the last 30 years, a new study says.

An oil pipeline break in Canada was caused by a “singular failure,” the pipeline's owner said.

About 9,468 barrels of oil would spill into the Arctic off of Alaska’s coast per day under a worst-case oil spill scenario modeled by Shell as part of their proposal to drill in the region.
