News bites: Alaskan pipeline woes, climate change could disrupt wireless networks, and more

The Wall Street Journal (subscription req’d) reports on the problems facing the massive Trans-Alaska oil pipeline as production on Alaska’s North Slope drops.

Reuters reports that Exxon Mobil is facing attacks over executive pay.

Now this could spark outrage: Time magazine looks at a report from British officials who conclude that climate change could disrupt WiFi networks.

The Associated Press looks at what’s at stake when Arctic nations including the U.S. gather this week.

Interior Secretary Ken Salazar and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will attend Thursday’s Arctic Council meeting in Greenland. Salazar told reporters last month that drilling policy will be discussed.

AP reports that Bill Gates “said Tuesday he's personally involved in clean energy innovation, but it won't be a focus of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation since it's better suited to a capitalistic venture.”

Bloomberg reports that a Toys R Us distribution center will be home to the country’s largest rooftop solar project.
