Rep. Terry presses Senate on Keystone pipeline bill

By Ben Geman - 08/05/11 02:58 PM ET

Over at our Congress Blog, Rep. Lee Terry (R-Neb.) urges the Senate to take up his bill that would force the Obama administration to make a decision on the proposed Keystone XL pipeline by Nov. 1.

The House approved the bill last month. Terry, who strongly supports the project, argues the pipeline from Canada’s oil sands to Texas refineries will produce jobs and help untether the U.S. from OPEC.

The State Department is vowing to make a decision on the pipeline by year’s end. Check out what Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had to say Thursday about the pipeline here.
