News bites: GM chief to bash critics of Volt electric car

The Wall Street Journal reports that GM will attack critics during a Capitol Hill hearing Wednesday.

“General Motors Co. Chief Executive Dan Akerson is preparing to go on the offensive against congressional critics who say GM's battery-powered Chevrolet Volt is a government-financed misfire, according to people familiar with the company's plans,” the paper reports.

The New York Times reports that the United Nations effort to craft a global climate change agreement has come back from the dead.
