News bites: TransCanada hopes to finish work on Keystone by 2015

Keystone XL developer TransCanada hopes to complete the pipeline by 2015, Reuters reports.

The federal government is seeking a 25-year prison sentence for a former Massey official’s role in the Upper Big Branch Mine disaster in 2010 that killed 29 men, The Charleston Gazette reports.

Iran cut off oil supplies to six European countries Wednesday, The New York Times reports.

The move caused a rise in oil prices in Europe, according to The Associated Press.

A new study says climate change increases the risk of intense storms, The Boston Globe reports.
