News bites: Public links extreme weather, climate change

A new poll shows that the public links extreme weather and climate change, The New York Times reports.

The Associated Press examines the jobs that are created because of natural-gas drilling.

Bloomberg reports that First Solar plans to cut 2,000 jobs.

Sen. Dick Lugar (R-Ind.) blasted the Obama administration for threatening to veto a transportation bill over language forcing the approval of the Keystone XL oil pipeline, UPI reports.

Details of the BP oil-spill settlement will come out in court documents set to be filed Wednesday, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
