News bites: Wash. House race offers different climate, energy paths

The candidates running for a Washington House seat diverge over the human impact on climate change and clean energy, notes The Olympian.

Charities have donated $19 million to study hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, for natural gas in Pennsylvania, according to The Associated Press.

An Agriculture Department study found each megawatt of wind power generating capacity added $11,000 in personal income, the Sioux City (S.D.) Argus Leader reports.
