News bites: Decision looms on solar tariffs

Reuters unwraps Wednesday’s looming Commerce Department decision on Chinese solar panel tariffs.

The news service also reports on a poll showing that “Nearly three-quarters of Americans say global warming influences U.S. weather and made this year's record-hot summer worse.”

The Wall Street Journal reports on environmentalists’ concerns about nuclear power in Sweden.

“Four more Greenpeace activists were found hiding inside a Swedish nuclear power plant, a day after the environmental group broke into the installation in an attempt to prove security was insufficiently tight,” the paper reports from Stockholm.

The Houston Chronicle looks at oil-and-gas industry accident-prevention efforts.

The Oil & Gas Journal reports on Shell’s efforts to trap carbon emissions at an oil sands facility.
