News bites: Manhattan to get power back Friday

Utility Consolidated Edison said all of Manhattan should get its electricity back Friday, according to Bloomberg.

New York and New Jersey are running out of gasoline, reports the New York Times. E2-Wire has more on that here.

The federal government has underestimated how much of the nation is prone to flooding as a result of climate change and sea level rises, notes The Washington Post.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission will recommend a new rule requiring emergency vents at U.S. reactors similar to those at Japan’s Fukushima Daiichi power plant, reports the New York Times.

The Environmental Protection Agency is proposing a new system to curb counterfeit renewable fuel credits, according to Oil & Gas Journal.
