News bites: Seattle plans for climate change impact on its shores

Seattle Public Utilities predicted that climate change would put parts of Seattle’s shoreline underwater by 2050, The Seattle Times reports.

CNNMoney takes a look at California’s oil potential.

China, Mexico and other emerging economies are putting laws on the books to cut carbon emissions and boost energy efficiency, Bloomberg reports.

The Environmental Protection Agency cited Shell for violating air pollution permits in its Arctic operations last year, the Houston Chronicle notes.

British lawmakers said a plan there to link offshore wind turbines to the electric grid would cost $27 billion and potentially raise power rates for consumers, Bloomberg reports.
