By Ben Geman - 02/08/13 06:07 AM ET

Slate magazine asks, “Could climate change be Al-Qaida’s best friend in Africa?”

The Washington Post reports that “Green-friendly Europe has a dirty secret: It is burning a lot more coal.”

The New York Times reports on a probe of alleged corruption by Italian oil giant Eni.

The Associated Press looks at state legislation in North Dakota to crack down on burning natural gas that’s released during oil production.

“A Fargo Democrat has introduced arguably the toughest legislation to date aimed at curbing the oil industry’s practice of burning and wasting natural gas as an unwanted byproduct of oil production,” the news service reports.
