News bites: Keystone a missed chance on climate diplomacy

Inside Climate News says the Keystone XL oil sands pipeline was a missed opportunity for climate change diplomacy between Canada and the United States.

Rep. Edward Markey's (D-Mass.) new campaign advertisement in the Massachusetts Senate race focuses on the response to BP's 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill, The Boston Globe notes.

Interior Secretary Ken Salazar noted Gulf Coast restoration is progressing in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and the Gulf oil spill, the Houston Chronicle reports.

An Indian tribe trying to shutter a coal-fired power plant near Las Vegas said it discovered "phony" reports by utility NV Energy about pollution levels near the plant, according to The Associated Press.
