Browner downplays hacked emails

White House climate czar Carol Browner today rejected the idea that emails among climate scientists hacked from a prominent British research center have dented the case that human-induced global warming is occurring.

Global warming skeptics, including Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.), have pounced on emails lifted from the Climatic Research Unit at the University of East Anglia, alleging the correspondence reveals efforts to bury findings to the contrary.

But Browner, in a briefing with reporters today, had this to say when asked about the messages:
