In Time, a steel plant in India provides a cautionary tale about emissions offset credits under the Kyoto Protocol, and tees up the issue for the Copenhagen climate talks.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports that Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger wants the state to be ready if catastrophic climate changes cannot be stopped.

General Motors Co. envisions limited sales of electric cars over the next five years and will boost production of its Chevy Volt slowly, Reuters reports from the Los Angeles auto show.

In the Guardian yesterday, pioneering NASA climate scientist James Hansen takes a very dim view of the upcoming Copenhagen talks.
