Another green group targets Sen. Lincoln
Sen. Blanche Lincoln’s opposition to EPA regulating greenhouse gases put her on the League of Conservation Voters’ “Dirty Dozen” list.
Now it’s the subject of a 60-second Sierra Club ad that will run for two weeks in the Little Rock and Fort Smith markets. Hear it here.
Lincoln (D-Ark.) seemed to welcome being the target of the League of Conservation Voters. Opposing federal regulators may play well with voters in conservative Arkansas. The Sierra Club ad tries to get around that by stressing the “special interests” Lincoln is allegedly supporting.
And in another sign backers of climate change legislation are deemphasizing the climate, the ad focuses more on the economy, health and clean air in general than it does on global warming.
"Record job losses… foreclosures… rising costs… Arkansas is hurting," the ad begins. "In these tough times, we need strong leaders to stand up to special interests, and help get our economy back on track."
