Matusic leaves API, joins Exxon in Dallas

Karen Matusic has left the American Petroleum Institute to take a job at Exxon Mobil in Dallas.

Matusic, a former reporter at Thomson Reuters, had worked at API as a spokeswoman since 2006. She will do the same job at Exxon Mobil. Her last day at API was on Friday.

API recently underwent a reorganization that included staff cuts. But Juan Palomo, a spokesman for API, said Matusic’s departure was not related to the restructuring. API is down to three spokespeople now, Palomo, Bill Bush and Cathy Landry.
