Dreier names four new Republicans to House Rules Committee

By Pete Kasperowicz - 01/05/11 06:51 AM ET

House Rules Committee Chairman David Dreier (R-Calif.) has named four new Republicans to his Committee. All four are newly elected members: Rich Nugent (Fla.), Tim Scott (S.C.), Daniel Webster (Fla.) and Rob Woodall (Ga.).

In a statement today, Dreier said all four "will bring to the Committee the spirit of reform and accountability that the American people demand and expect from the House of Representatives. Working together, the new and returning members of the Rules Committee will maintain the commitment to transparency and accountability that will be the hallmark of the 112th Congress."

Reps. Pete Sessions (R-Texas) and Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.) will return to the Rules Committee in this Congress, and two additional Republicans are expected to be added soon.
