House Republicans approve final rules for 112th Congress

By Pete Kasperowicz - 01/05/11 09:26 AM ET

The House Republican Conference late Tuesday night approved a final package of rules for the 112th Congress.

Republicans approved the rule with some modifications. Aside from fixing typographical errors, the new rule adds a requirement that committees include proposals to cut spending programs in committee oversight plans that must be developed twice a year. (These oversight plans are due no later than 30 days after June 1 and Dec. 1 each year.)

The final rule also simplifies language regarding the deficit-neutral revenue reserve, and removes a requirement that said committee chairman had to post hearing attendance online.

Here's the text of the new rule, which the House is expected to vote on Wednesday.
