House finishes non-controversial work before budget fight

By Pete Kasperowicz - 01/25/11 01:43 PM ET

The House convened at noon on Tuesday and prepared two non-controversial measures for votes: H.Res. 49 and H.R. 366. H.Res. 49 was approved later by a 424-0 vote, and H.R. 366 is expected to be approved unanimously or with very little opposition.

House members also passed H.Res. 52 and 53 by voice vote. These resolutions assign Democratic and Republican members, respectively, to various committee posts. No texts are available as of yet.

The House began a one-hour debate on the controversial budget resolution, H.Res. 38, at about 12:40 p.m.

Updated at 2:40 p.m.
