A closer look at next week…

The House next week is looking to finish up work on an extension of Patriot Act surveillance authorities, then move to what will likely be a contentious debate on the fiscal year 2011 budget.

Monday, February 14

The House convenes at noon and starts legislative business at 2 p.m. The House will debate H.R. 514, the Patriot Act extension, and votes are expected at 6:30 p.m. The House Rules Committee is expected to meet at 5 p.m. to write a rule for the FY 2011 spending bill.

The Senate returns at 2 p.m. to consider the FAA bill, and at 5:30 p.m. will vote on two judicial nominees.

Tuesday, February 15

The House convenes at 10 a.m. and begins legislative work at noon on H.R. 1, the spending bill for the rest of FY 2011.

The Senate is expected to be in Tuesday and for the rest of the week, but no precise schedule has been set.

Wednesday, February 16

The House convenes at 10 a.m. and continues work on the spending bill.

Thursday, February 17

The House convenes at 9 a.m. for more work on the spending bill, and the last votes are expected by 3 p.m.

Friday, February 18

The House is not in session.
