Amendment marathon concludes, debate on 2011 spending bill to continue Wednesday

By Josiah Ryan - 02/16/11 06:54 AM ET

The House adjourned at 1:12 a.m. Wednesday after a legislative marathon in which lawmakers considered amendments to the fiscal year 2011 spending bill.

The extended session was unusual as leadership in recent years operated the House under rules that limited the amendment process. Republican leadership say they are allowing the "House to work its will."

Follow the Floor Action Blog at 10 a.m. Wednesday when the House returns to continue consideration of some of the 400 amendments proposed for the continuing resolution.
