"So what we’re going to have to recognize is that we’re not going to establish any free democratic society over there in Afghanistan and winning in Afghanistan is not going to be a conventional win," Dingell said. "Winning in Afghanistan is going to be getting out of there with your whole skin."

Dingell is just one of several members of Congress who have recently expressed pessimism over the two conflicts.
