Watt was interrupted at that point by a parliamentary question about whether Watt's words should be taken down, as he accused House Republicans of lying.

After a delay of a few minutes, Watt asked unanimous consent that his words be taken down if he did in fact say Republicans are liars. "If I did, I ask unanimous consent that those words be removed from the record," he said.

Members were debating Rep. Rosa DeLauro's (D-Conn.) amendment aimed at starting a discussion on increasing funding for the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
