Members considered H.R. 1383 as amended by the Senate, which would restore increased funding for veterans' education payments that has been reduced in some cases under a prior law setting a cap on veterans' reimbursement. Members from both parties agreed that this unfairly hurt veterans who enrolled in more expensive schools under the prior law, only to see their subsidies reduced.
