House committees continue work in August on energy, education, terrorism

Also on Aug. 24, the Homeland Security Subcommittee on Oversight, Investigations and Management will meet in Houston for a hearing titled "Preventing an Economic Shock Wave: Securing the Port of Houston from a Terrorist Attack."

On Aug. 16, the House Education and the Workforce Subcommittee on Higher Education and Workforce Training meets in Greenville, S.C., for a hearing titled "Reviving our Economy: The Role of Higher Education in Job Growth and Development."

Also that day, the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit will meet in Newnan, Ga., to assess the effect of federal regulations on community banks.
