Wednesday: Trade in the House, patent reform in the Senate

Republicans are hoping that passage of the GSP bill can be followed by passage of three pending free trade agreements.

Also up in the House today is H.Con.Res. 67, which would allow the use of Capitol grounds for the District of Columbia Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run.

The third bill, H.R. 2061, is the Civilian Service Recognition Act. This bill authorizes the presentation of a U.S. flag at the funeral of federal civilian employees who are killed while performing government duties or because of their status as federal employees.

The Senate meets at 10 a.m., and after morning speeches starts debate on the America Invents Act, H.R. 1249. The Senate on Tuesday evening voted 93-5 to end debate on the motion to proceed to the bill, a likely sign the bill has enough support to pass in the coming days.
