House OKs rule for EPA oversight legislation

The House Thursday evening approved a rule for H.R. 2401, a bill that would require analysis of Environmental Protection Agency regulations and prevent two final EPA rules from being released until this analysis is complete.

Members approved the rule 245-175. Every Republican supported it, as did nine Democrats.

The House immediately started a planned two-hour debate on the bill; consideration of a dozen amendments is possible Thursday night, unless or until members resume work on the continuing resolution spending bill.
