The House will complete consideration of the third 2015 appropriations bill to fund the Commerce Department, Justice Department and science programs.

The measure is being considered under an open rule, so members can offer an unlimited number of amendments. Debate lasted until after midnight on Wednesday. Late votes are expected Thursday evening on additional amendments and final passage.

Votes on amendments regarding gun control, immigration and restrictions on the Guantanamo Bay detention facility are expected.

For instance, one amendment offered by Rep. Mike Thompson (D-Calif.) would increase funding for the National Instant Criminal Background Check Systems by $19.5 million.
