International child support bill clears House
The House quickly approved legislation Tuesday night that would require the U.S. to cooperate with other countries on efforts to locate parents who owe child support to children living overseas.
The International Child Support Recovery Improvement Act, H.R. 4282, would also require participating countries to participate with U.S. requests to locate parents who owe child support.
The legislation implements a treaty that the U.S. Senate approved in 2010. After brief debate, the bill was approved by voice vote.
