House Dems announce online 'resume bank' to help hire staff

By Pete Kasperowicz - 11/07/12 01:04 PM ET

House Democrats on Wednesday announced the creation of an online resume bank, which will let people submit resumes for jobs in House Democratic offices.

"The resume bank launched today will allow House Democrats to improve our hiring process and further strengthen our staff diversity," said House Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.). "It advances our commitment to openness, transparency, and equal opportunity by creating a new way for any citizen to submit a resume that will be shared with all House Democratic offices, including the large incoming freshmen class."

Democrats beat 16 GOP incumbents on Tuesday.

Hoyer said the resume bank is a project of several Democratic caucuses, including the Asian Pacific American Caucus, the Black Caucus, the Hispanic Caucus, the Blue Dog Democrats, the New Democrats, and the Progressive Caucus.

Hoyer's office said people can download their resumes at democraticwhip.gov/resumes, and that Democratic offices will be able to access them and browse for candidates for open positions.
