GOP cuts next week short; Cantor says work on fiscal cliff will continue

Cantor also stressed that fiscal cliff negotiations are ongoing, and that Republicans would not adjourn the 112th Congress until a final deal is struck.

"Negotiations on these and many other issues will continue regardless of the daily legislative business of the House, and members are advised that we will not adjourn the 112th Congress until a credible solution has been found that meets these challenges," Cantor said.

Aside from the fiscal cliff, Cantor said the House is still waiting for the Senate to act on defense and intelligence authorization bills, and an extension of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.
