Wednesday: NDAA (maybe) and suspensions in the House

By Pete Kasperowicz - 12/12/12 09:05 AM ET

The House meets at 10 a.m. for speeches, then at noon for work on several bills, including (possibly) a motion to go to conference with the Senate on the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), H.R. 4310.

The House tried to go to conference on the NDAA Tuesday, but this effort was delayed after it was realized the Senate bill had some revenue measures in it, a violation of House GOP rules.

Late Tuesday, House Republicans said it is "possible" members would hold these votes on Wednesday.

The House will also take up a resolution, H.Res. 827, allowing the House to consider suspension bills through Dec. 28. Members will debate this resolution for one hour before passing it (more details on this resolution will come in a post later this morning).

After that, the House has five suspension bills set for the day:

H.R. 6190, the Asthma Inhalers Relief Act,

H.R. 5817, the Eliminate Privacy Notice Confusion Act,

S. 3542, the No-Hassle Flying Act,

S. 1998, the DART Act, and

H.R. 6364, the Frank Buckles World War I Memorial Act.

The Senate is in at 9:30 a.m., but has no votes planned for Wednesday. Several farewell speeches from retiring members of the Senate are expected.
