Thursday: Violence Against Women reauthorization in the Senate

By Pete Kasperowicz - 02/07/13 09:46 AM ET

The Senate meets at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, and after morning remarks, will continue work on S. 47, the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act.

Senators voted Monday to proceed to the bill, and Democrats are hoping to pass the bill by the end of the day.

Also today, the Senate is expected to swear in Sen.-designate William Cowan (D-Mass.), who replaced Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) when Kerry left to head the State Department.

The House is out until next week.
