Tuesday: Protecting kids, promoting adoption, naming a courthouse

Another is H.R. 3205, the Promoting Adoption and Legal Guardianship for Children in Foster Care. This bill extends and reforms a federal adoption program for three years.

The last is H.R. 185, which names a Texas courthouse after Paul Brown, a Texas judge who died last year. The House approved this bill last year, but the Senate never acted on it.

(On Friday, we incorrectly said it was a Texas post office.)

Any needed votes on these suspension bills will happen at 6:30 p.m. As suspension bills, all three would need a two-thirds majority vote for passage.

The Senate is out all week.
